Compact grinding machine for arrising the horizontal bottom edge of glass sheets in a fully automatic cycle. A belt grinding unit processes both bottom edges of the sheet in a single pass. An integrated measuring and belt feeding system ensures a uniform grinding pattern. Water is used to cool and clean the diamond belts. Additional spray nozzles remove glass dust residue from the sheet edge and reduce the displacement of these particles into downstream systems. A water circulation system with filtering can be integrated.
By preference this machine is combined with a KSR type grinding unit for processing all sides, the entire cycle time is reduced considerably. The wet grinding process provides for an optimal and gentle planing of the glass edges and minimizes the quantity of required abrasive materials. Even in obliquely chamfered glass edges (e.g. thick window or laminated glass) this flexible belt grinding principle yields good results in contrast to machines with diamond disks.
Highlights
- Very short cycle times with optimal results
- Complete machine body made of chrome steel
- Grinding belts fully automatically adjust to respective sheet thickness
- Vertical washing machines can be connected upstream without difficulty
