The fully automatic stationary sorting system serves to de-couple the glass cutting sequence from the production sequence for insulating glass and guarantees continuous operation. The system is able to pick up glass lites sheets vertically and horizontally, buffer and transfer the sheets, and transport them between the processing stations. Sorting in the storage magazine is performed by material flow software (available from us).
How is the stationary sorting system configured?
The stationary sorting system as a logistics system consists of an automatic sorting magazine (ASM) and a transport shuttle for loading and unloading (SHL) this magazine. The transport shuttle can be used in combination with a tilting table, or as a solution with integrated tilt function (SHL-VH).
How does the stationary sorting system work?
1. Automatic sorting of the glass sheets (ASM) Glass sheets are pre-sorted and stored intermediately in the automatic sorting magazine ASM. Loading and unloading is performed via a separately controlled transport beam in combination with a glass transport shuttle. The transport roller bar moves on guide rails located below the magazine unit, is positioned exactly under the active storage slot, tilts the drive rollers towards the transport level and starts to transport the sheet. Sorting in the storage magazine is performed by production process software (optionally available from LiSEC) by optimising the following criteria:
Number of free buffer slots
Shortest transport paths
Need-based request from production line
2. Fully automatic transport of the glass sheets (SHL) The SHL transport shuttle is used to feed insulating glass lines and processing lines or storage systems with glass sheets, as with the LiSEC ASM. It takes glass sheets of different sizes and in random sequence from glass cutting machines fully automatically. The high performance roller guide system and the rack and pinion system with angled toothing guarantee low drive resistances and high stability, which facilitates acceleration of up to 3m/s2 and transport speeds of up to 5m/s (300m/min). Furthermore, the transport rear wall is heavily tilted, whereby contactless transfer of the sheets is possible inside the shuttle. With this, additional cycle time is gained.
3. Transport of sheets in a vertical and horizontal position (SHL-VH) The tilting shuttle SHL-VH can transport glass sheets both horizontally and vertically between processing stations. The tiltable glass shuttle covers standard tilts of 2 to 6 degrees, and the full range up to 90 degrees (horizontal). It uses the same rail system as the standard shuttle and can therefore be operated highly dynamically with a speed of up to 300m/min and acceleration of 3m/s². The LiSEC tilting shuttle combines the functions of a tilting table with those of a shuttle and is therefore unique on the market. It facilitates operation of horizontal and vertical glass transport lines, each with different transport heights and inclination angles, on a single shuttle.
For whom is the stationary sorting system suitable?
It is suitable for all companies that have several processing steps between glass cutting and delivery of the product and wish to achieve a more continuous operation of the downstream equipment through pre-sorting, such as for insulating glass manufacturers, glass processors, etc.
What advantages does the machine offer?
The automatic sorting system serves to de-couple the glass cutting sequence from the production sequence for insulating glass or single glass processing, and guarantees continuous operation of the downstream system.
Additional advantages of the tilting shuttle SHL-VH:
No tilting table required: A tilting table can be saved per line. Thanks to the flexible tilting shuttle, it is also possible to fulfil certain customer requirements with limited space.
Adjustable glass transport height: Progressively adjustable horizontal and vertical glass transport height
Optimised cycle time: Glass sheets are transported to the end of the shuttle transport carriage while moving and are adjusted to the required angle of the downstream station (2 to 90 degrees).
Easy to maintain: The automatic lubrication system, low-maintenance components and easy-to-change wearing parts ensure quick and simple maintenance of the tilting shuttle.
It is possible to attain acceleration of 4m/s and a transport speed of up to 5m/s because the rack and pinion system with angled toothing guarantees low drive resistances and high stability. Furthermore, the transport rear wall is tilted through 36 degrees, whereby the transfer of the sheets is possible inside the shuttle, also during travel.
