Spectrum Inovativ & Industries SRL – Continuing where others stop
There's a company in the heart of Bucharest that plays a leading role in Romania's glass processing industry. "Spectrum Inovativ & Industries SRL" was founded in 1991, first as an agent for a foil manufacturer. Since 1994 the company has also processed insulating glass and has been steadily expanding to include modern insulating glass production. The owner and General Manager, Ioan Silviu, manages his company very skilfully. He studied automation and knows the machinery in his production like the back of his hand. "Continuing to optimise the machines that I've purchased is a personal challenge for me." At first glance, the production area looks relatively manageable, but efficiency is very important here and each of the 75 employees knows exactly what to do.
Silviu is not only an engineer, he is also a businessman with a formidable network who is constantly trying out new things. "What use is it to me if I produce glass products that others are also able to offer? That makes me replaceable," he explains on a hot summer day in his office. "I continue at the point where others stop. I always try out new things – even wider, even larger, an even greater radius – it has to work!" It may well be the case that glass sheets from Spain are finished by his company before being installed in Great Britain.
The majority of the machinery, such as a cutting line, two insulating glass lines, a laminated glass line, and all of the software programs for production optimisation and order management, were supplied by LiSEC. Silviu: "I've been working with LiSEC for twenty years and that is not something to be taken for granted. twenty years ago in Romania, most people purchased as cheaply as possible and sacrificed the quality." Silviu didn't want to follow this trend and his was the first company in Romania to trust LiSEC quality, which has proved worthwhile. "My advantage was always the input I received from LiSEC's specialists, enabling me to increase capacity and improve quality. This was very valuable, especially in the beginning."
Spectrum's customers include Strabag Austria, Heberger Germany, Saint Gobain Romania, Bouygues France, Octatube Netherlands, U-Glass Technology UK, Alpine Austria, Aludesign, Tehnorex, Bog Art and ACMS. Silviu now specialises in insulating glass (also including an integrated sun protection system) and glass products like stairs, glass decorations, all-glass systems, glass floors, doors, glass walls and all architecture products produced using curved tempered glass.
What Silviu especially appreciates about his cooperation with LiSEC is the technical knowledge of its employees and their friendliness. "We're planning on expanding our line capacity in the future to be able to produce even larger dimensions to keep up with trends in modern architecture. We will certainly use technology provided by LiSEC for this!"
