glasstec 2026: Service as a key to stable production and long-lasting equipment

August 19, 2026

At glasstec 2026 in Düsseldorf, LiSEC will demonstrate the concrete contribution service makes to stability in glass production. The focus is on solutions that directly address key challenges faced by processors: maximising availability, reducing response times and making more efficient use of existing equipment.

These include remote services, structured maintenance concepts, training programmes as well as services such as LONGLiFE, all aimed at extending the technical and economic service life of equipment.

We spoke with Sebastian Göttlinger, Director International After Sales Service, about the service priorities at glasstec 2026.

Mr Göttlinger, why is service more important than ever for flat glass processors today?

Sebastian Göttlinger: A well-structured service often determines how stable production runs today. In practice, we clearly see that fast spare parts availability, short service response times and regular maintenance have a direct impact on whether equipment stops or continues production. Our goal is therefore not “more service”, but the highest possible equipment availability. That is exactly what customers expect today – and precisely what our services are designed to deliver.

What specific service priorities will LiSEC highlight at glasstec 2026?

Sebastian Göttlinger: A key focus is our remote service contract LiSERV. Its main advantage lies in the speed of support:

  • prioritised service requests
  • direct remote access
  • fast analysis and troubleshooting without the need for on-site intervention

This allows problems to be resolved within a short time – ensuring high equipment availability and maximum process continuity. For our customers, LiSERV is therefore less a support contract and more a means to produce and plan as efficiently as possible.

Another focus is preventive maintenance. Where do you see the greatest need for action?

Sebastian Göttlinger: Many companies react relatively late when it comes to maintenance. However, experience clearly shows that failures can be significantly reduced through regular maintenance. Our structured maintenance and inspection services help identify potential issues at an early stage and ensure high process stability. This not only reduces risk but also improves operational planning reliability.

What role do knowledge transfer and training play in LiSEC’s service concept?

Sebastian Göttlinger: Service is most effective when the know-how is available within the company. We offer both hands-on training directly at the customer’s site, tailored to specific customer needs, as well as training at our LiSEC Training Centre in Austria, which is equipped with the latest LiSEC equipment and software solutions. Well-trained operators detect deviations earlier, can react more quickly and carry out simple adjustments themselves. The result is clearly measurable:

  • more stable processes
  • fewer service cases
  • higher equipment performance

Training is therefore not an add-on, but a key factor for low-disruption operation.

LiSEC will also present new consulting services at glasstec 2026. What are they about?

Sebastian Göttlinger: With our Performance Check, we demonstrate how greater efficiency can be achieved from existing equipment. The focus is not on new investments, but on making better use of existing technology – for example through optimised processes or adjusted parameters. For many customers, there is considerable potential here to increase productivity without additional investment.

What is the key take-away visitors should take from glasstec 2026?

Sebastian Göttlinger: Service determines how much an installation actually delivers. Higher availability, faster problem resolution, better utilisation of existing equipment – that is the difference between smooth operation and unplanned downtime.
