Optimizations
Optimization Around Defects automatically re-optimises stock plates before cutting to avoid detected glass defects. The optimisation repositions sheets so that defects are located in waste areas, edge areas or smaller sheets wherever possible. The optimised cutting data are transferred directly to the cutting system.
Optimization Around Defects is an extension to GPS.prod for cutting optimisation based on defect data. The solution processes external defect information from glass inspection systems and integrates it directly into the optimisation process. Based on the reported defect positions, existing cutting layouts are automatically recalculated and transferred to the cutting system.
Optimization Around Defects is suitable for:
Optimization Around Defects increases glass yield by automatically taking detected glass defects into account before cutting. The software optimises cutting layouts so that defects are located in waste areas or less critical areas wherever possible. This reduces waste, makes more efficient use of available raw glass sheets and allows even lower-grade glass to be processed economically. The optimised data are transferred directly to the cutting system, allowing the process to run without any additional manual intervention.
Defect avoidance during cutting
Optimization Around Defects analyses detected defects on the stock plate and automatically repositions the sheets so that defects are located in waste or edge areas wherever possible. This significantly increases the usable glass area.
Higher glass yield
Intelligent re-optimisation also allows raw glass sheets with defects to be used economically. This reduces waste and material costs.
Automatic transfer to production
Once optimisation is complete, the updated cutting data are transferred directly to the cutting system. This means the process can be carried out without any additional manual effort.
