Automatic vertical loading and unloading of glass sheets by robot
The vacuum suction gripper for vertical robotic loading and unloading of glass sheets (LiSEC RHV-B) and finished insulating glass units (LiSEC RHV-A IG) automates manual glass handling. The system provides both fully automatic loading of an insulating glass line with individual glass sheets and automatic unloading of finished insulating glass units. This ensures a stable, continuous production process.
High reliability and repeatability ensure consistent product quality. The integrated glass support and extendable suction grippers of the RHV-A IG provide particularly gentle handling of insulating glass units with thermoplastic spacers.
How is the loading and unloading solution for flat glass designed?
The system consists of an industrial robot and a vacuum suction gripper. Combined with an appropriate LiSEC logistics solution, the robot handling systems ensure safe, uninterrupted loading and unloading of glass racks and automatic connection to production lines. The robot manufacturer can be selected as an option (ABB, KUKA, FANUC).
How does the system work?
Robot handling works as follows:
- Transmission of the glass sheet data from the upstream machine to the robot
- Using these data, the robot calculates the travel path and required speed
- Activation of the required vacuum suction cups on the gripper
- The robot picks up and lifts the glass sheet
