Compact breakout system for Y-breakage, trim cuts and residual fractures

The BSY-A (Breakout Station Y) is a modular, patent-pending technology for Y-breakage, trim cuts and residual fractures in float glass cutting. It enables straight breakouts of flat glass without additional turning devices or 90° transport stations. Thanks to its compact design, it can perform the space-saving and highly efficient processing of small and large glass sheets up to 6 m in length and even longer.

 

How is the LiSEC BSY-A configured?

The BSY-A is based on a modular system concept with standardised 2 m modules and an optional 1 m extension. Each module is equipped with integrated Y-breaker bars and can be flexibly combined to create different system lengths. This allows the system to be optimally adapted to the available space.

 

How does the BSY-A work?

Two independent Y-breaker bars per machine module make it possible to produce each Y-breakage without having to rotate the glass sheet. The Y-sub-plate is positioned precisely on one of the two breaker bars by an integrated 90° transport system. This results in very low space requirements and a high degree of flexibility for different sheet sizes.

  • BSY-A20/33: 2 independent Y-breaker bars, 2 m
  • BSY-A30/33: 2 independent Y-breaker bars, 3 m
  • BSY-A40/33: 4 independent Y-breaker bars, automatic coupling up to 4 m if necessary
  • BSY-A50/33: 4 independent Y-breaker bars, automatic coupling up to 5 m if necessary
  • BSY-A60/33: 6 independent Y-breaker bars, automatic coupling up to 6 m if necessary

 

Who is the BSY-A suitable for?

The BSY-A is designed for any float glass processing company looking to automate its glass cutting process, save space and ensure the highest breakage quality at the same time. The system is particularly suitable for:

  • Float glass cutting with a high proportion of Y-breakage and trim cuts
  • Companies with limited space available for glass cutting
  • Companies with small to very large glass formats up to 6 m in length
  • Existing LiSEC lines (ARS/TBX/BTS) that are to be expanded or modernised -> adding a BSY-A automates both XY breakage and all trim cuts
  • Users who expect consistent edge quality with minimal operator intervention

  • Processing of shapes: manual breaking of shapes often leads to downtime. With the BSY-A, shapes can either be processed directly on the line on a BTS or discharged at a 90° angle using the integrated transport system. After breaking, they can be fed back into the production process without disrupting the material flow.

High and continuous plant throughput is ensured by the unique machine design that handles multiple processes in parallel like multiple Y-shaped breaking bars adjustable to suit the glass size as required, and integrated edge breakers with the shortest possible transport distances.

Up to 20% space saving through a straight machine design for Y‑breakout and side trim up to 6 m

By dispensing with turning devices and 90° transport stations, trim cuts, residual fractures and Y-breakages can take place directly on the line. This makes the BSY-A the most compact automatic breaking solution on the market and means it is possible to optimally use the space available at the customer's site. This technology is unique and has been registered for a patent by LiSEC.

Perfect edge quality - electrically adjustable counter pieces and breakout head depending glass thickness and type via recipe, reduce grinding addition

The BSY-A enables fully automatic float glass breakage without manual intervention. Both the counter piece and the breaker head automatically adjust to the glass thickness and guarantee consistently high edge quality.
