How is lis.edgebox structured?

lis.edgebox consists of a secure edge-computing platform that is either:

• operated as a virtual appliance on the customer's infrastructure; or
• installed as a physical hardware appliance directly in the production network.

Its core components include:

• VPN-based communication interface for remote access
• Web front end for managing and activating remote access
• Secure connection to LiSEC hub and cloud systems
• Docker-based data processing for digital and IoT services
• Interface for connecting machines, servers and plant components

How does lis.edgebox work?

lis.edgebox establishes an encrypted connection between the customer's infrastructure and LiSEC service systems. Through this connection, authorised LiSEC specialists can securely access machines and systems as required to analyse faults, provide support or assist with maintenance work remotely.

In addition, lis.edgebox can acquire and process production and machine data and make them available to digital services such as IoT or analytics platforms. Remote access is activated in a controlled manner via the integrated management interface or, for the hardware version, additionally via a physical switch.
