Sorting Stationary
The very compact tempering bed loading and unloading by robot, with its lightweight modular clamp, and the GPS.autofab responsible for the logic, can adapt to almost any products, ensuring a stable and continuous process.
The system consists of a robot and a clamp, in conjunction with a comprehensive software package that calculates the required suction cups and the best position of the sheet in the tempering bed.
The sheets are pre-sorted in the sorting/buffer station (ASM) and then transported to the take-off position via a belt section. GPS.autofab calculates the required suction cups and the storage position. The robot lowers the required suction cups on the clamp and activates the vacuum. This procedure enables dense occupancy, handling of sheets with cut-outs, as well as a reduction of suction cup marks. The robot picks up the sheet with low-pressure suction cups and places it in the calculated position directly at the tempering oven inlet.
Automatic tempering bed handling is ideal for existing customers with sorting systems, and also for series production. Skilled employees can be deployed more effectively, because only one worker is required at the oven.
The continuous feeding of the tempering oven facilitates optimum utilisation. It also ensures production of consistent quality around the clock, because sheet occupancy always takes place according to the same algorithm.

Automatic calculation of the tempering bed
The tempering bed is calculated in GPS.autofab on the basis of the individually adjustable parameters and the sheets are then positioned on the tempering bed. This allows for consistent quality because occupancy is always based on the same parameters.
Reduction of suction cup marks
A controlled suction and discharge process keeps suction marks to an absolute minimum compared to a conventional suction unit.
Adjustment to sheet size and shape
You can choose between Pick & Place and Drag & Drop mode, depending on the weight of the sheet. This means that a smaller robot can also handle large sheets. In addition, the robot only lowers the suction cups that are needed to move the sheet. The felt or an adjacent sheet remain untouched and the suction cup stays clear of dirt.
